disturbed by the events as described by Yvette Galvan ("We need to address racism issue in Lodi,"
Lodinews.com, Oct. 13, 2003) and want to publicly apologize to her
on behalf of the community at large.

Project is sponsoring a walk Saturday to celebrate the life of
labor and civil rights leader Cesar Chavez.

The legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. will be celebrated Tuesday
night in Lodi with music and discussion of the civil rights
movement in the 1960s.

The Breakthrough Project, founded to combat prejudice and foster
cooperation among the various ethnic and cultural groups which
populate the city today, is embarking on a series intended to
broaden public understanding of cultures which may be new to
