On June 10, the top 20 Lodi FFA members were awarded with the chapter’s annual point awards trip. Throughout the year, Lodi FFA’s members were awarded points for every activity they participated in.

Each year, the Lodi News-Sentinel sponsors a “Classroom Hero” contest to honor extraordinary teachers in Lodi. Last year, we received 155 nomination forms selecting 49secondary teachers and 452 nomination forms selecting 133 primary teachers!

Troop 198, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, recently gave Eagle Scout Awards to Peter Campbell, Alex Cook, Austin Mariana and Marcus Wells. The Eagle Scout Award is the highest award a Scout can earn.

On June 2, Dan Jobrack, Wor. Master of Lodi Masonic Lodge No. 256, presented the first Henry and Karen Hansen Memorial Fund Scholarship award in the amount of $1,000 to Larissa Boyer. Boyer recently received her Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Chico, where she will be continuing her post-graduate work in speech pathology.
