In the Delta, the striped bass and sturgeon have been on a real good bite the past few days. Local fishermen have caught striped bass on shad and mudsuckers to get limits or near limits dunking bait near Decker Island and the Power Lines on the Sacramento River.

The striped bass average size is about 4 pounds. The sturgeon bite has been good to very good either in the Sacramento River near Collinsville or over in the San Joaquin River near the PG&E. power plant. The best baits have been either eel or pile worms.
