There are striped bass in the Delta although the wind has been a factor. The best area to be fishing is below the Rio Vista Bridge and all the way down to Collinsville. Most of those that are catching are trolling and most of the fish are below 22 inches.

There are a few salmon being caught and most are less than 10 pounds. The area that most locals are trolling is in the vicinity of Walnut Grove. We have reports of salmon up to 32 pounds caught last week and a couple of others above 20 pounds. The best lures to use are No. 5 and No. 6 Blue Fox spinners. Fish have been reported from the mouth of the Old Sacramento River all the way up to the town of Courtland. Troll your lure at about 10 to 12 feet deep and watch your fish finder for small schools of fish.
