The kokanee bite at New Melones is better in the dam area and the spillway and back into Black Bart Cove, running 75-90 feet deep. Try pink and white hoochies, purple and white hoochies, Apexes in Kevorkian, UV's with pink and purple stripes, and Mr. Kokanee spinners in pink, blue and green with shoepeg corn.

Big Catfish are being caught around Angel's Cove, the Tuttle Town ramp area and Coyote Creek. Use liver, mackerel and nightcrawlers.

At Pardee, the Kokanee Power derby is this Saturday so it will be crowded. Best trolling is staying in the main water channel with Apexes and Rocky Mountain spinners with sling blades. Best colors have been pink, purple and orange.

Lake Camanche is still doing good trolling from Big Hat to Little Hat area, using R-Lures, Excels and Rapalas in about 25-40 feet of water. The dam area is good at night using Power Bait.

At Hogan Reservoir, striper trolling has improved, trolling 25-35 feet deep in the main part of the lake, using shad and anchovies. Chicken liver and mackerel are the best for catfish.

In the Delta, striped bass anglers are still waiting for the migratory fish. Keepers range in the 5- to 10-pound range.

The bass fishing is slow with a lot of small ones in the system. Frogs are good for the early moring top-water bite. The larger fish are coming off Senkos and flipping.

Spotty reports of 2-4 salmon per day coming from the Walnut Grove area. The salmon bite is hot at Bodega Bay to outside the Gate.
