The Delta: Trollers on the Sacramento River are striper fishing around the Old Dairy, Decker Island and the West Bank down to Sherman Island to Broad Slough, and inside of Montezuma. Most fish have been 6-10 pounds with an occasional fish in the teens. Best lures are Bombers, Yozuri shallow runners and Pucci Angry Eyes.

Bait fishermen are working for stripers anywhere from Rio Vista Bridge to Broad Slough. Best baits are shad, sardines and mudsuckers.

The sturgeon bite is best in Cache Slough, Light 44 and 33, the power lines and Pittsburg Power Plant, using shrimps baits, eel and roe.

Be cautious for the floating debris as there have been reported huge blocks of wood just below the surface that would do some real damage to a boat.

Bait fishing is good in the San Joaquin off the Santa Clara Shoals, using shad. Most fish are running 6-8 pounds. A lot of hyacinths are still coming down now, but there is still a lot of action.

Trollers are working the Mokelumne in Sycamore and Hog Sloughs, using Rebels and P-Line Predators. They're also working False River to Frank's Tract. Most fish run from keeper size to 7 pounds.

Lake Amador: Bank anglers are doing very well using Berkeley PowerBait, Berkeley Trout Worms and Mice Tails. Some anglers are casting Kastmasters, Rooster Tails and Wooly Buggers behind a water-filled bobber.

Trollers are using Needlefish, R-Lures, and Rocky Mountain Serpent Lures.

Lake Camanche: Trollers are working the river channel all the way to the dam. Other good spots to fish are Rabbit Creek, Big Hat and Little Hat. Anglers report using grubs, Excel Spoons, R-Lures, Needlefish, Rapalas, Mag Tackle and Rocky Mountain Spoons.

Bait fishermen are working the spillway, coves off of Little Hat and all of the upriver coves, using Berkeley PowerBait with a Berkeley Egg in White and Pink colors.

The south shore pond has kicked out fish over 5 pounds, using Berkeley PowerBait, Mice Tails and casting lures like Kastmasters and Magic Bullets.

New Melones: Trollers are working the main body of the lake, the dam area, and some anglers are picking up bigger fish using shad-patterned lures, Needlefish, Excels and Rapalas.

Bank fishermen are doing very well at Glory Hole Point, Angel's Cove and Tuttle Town Ramp using Berkeley PowerBait, Berkeley Mice Tails and nightcrawlers with a marshmallow. Some anglers are casting Kastmasters, Spinners and small crank baits.

Ocean: Some fishermen are going out to deeper water with most reporting limits. Bottom fishing is great right now.

Note: 2013 fishing licenses and vouchers are now available.
