The Delta: On the Sacramento River, salmon anglers are trolling from the mouth of the Old Sac all the way up to Walnut Grove. Most fish are running 10-25 pounds. The best lures have varied from Silvertrons, Blue Foxes and Radical Glow spinners, Kwikfish to Brad's Cut Plugs. A recent limit of salmon came in, weighing 11 and 16 pounds, caught in the Walnut Grove area on a Green Silverton.

Striper trollers are still having their best lunch around the West Bank using shallow running YoZuris, Angry Eyes and Bombers, the flats by Rio Vista up to Old Sac.

Best areas for bait fishing for stripers is the Rio Vista Bridge, Decker Island and Power Lines, using shad, sardines and anchovies.

On the Mokelumne, we have some reports of salmon, but it's still early for the fish hatchery to start putting out the water from the Camanche dam.

Call Wimpy's at 209-794-2544 before you go out to the Locks to see if they're open.

On the San Joaquin River, trollers are trolling Old River Flats to the mouth of Three Mile, pulling deepdiving Rebels and P-Line Predators.

Bait fishermen are fishing in the areas of the mouth of the Mokelumne, San Andreas and Santa Clara Shoals and Eddos, using shad, sardines and anchovies.

Black bass anglers are doing great on frogs as well as spinner baits, chatter and buzz baits. Punching has started to pick up a lot.

Pardee: Kokanee trollers are finding it a little tougher fishing, going down 80-115 feet, using larger Dodgers and darker colored Hoochies and spinners. Best scents are Pro-Cure Garlic, Anise and Bloody Tuna.

Trout trollers are working the main lake and dam area. Best depth has been 25-35 feet. They have been trolling Uncle Larry's Pro-Spinners with a threaded Nightcrawler. Best lures have been Kastmasters, Needlefish and Excel Lures.

Bait fishermen are using Berkley PowerBait, Mice Tails and Trout Worms. Best areas are the marina out to the brush pile.

Don Pedro: Trout fishing has slowed down quite a bit. The kokanee and king salmon are deep at 90-115 feet in the river arm.

Best baits for largemouth bass are Senko and Robo worms and jigs in the back of Woods Creek and coves.

Camanche: Trout trolling has slowed due to the hot weather. Night fishing is your best bet right now. Best baits are nightcrawlers and Power Bait.

Night fishermen using night lights are having a good time. Drop the light as far as it will go and fish about 10 feet below the light.

The catfish bite is still good all over the lake, using mackerel, sardines, chicken livers and turkey livers. Catfish are reported up to 6 pounds. One report came in of a 7-pound catfish caught using fresh chicken liver. Black bass anglers are using Senkos off the peninsula area with catches up to 5.5 pounds.

New Melones: The kokanee bite is still wide open. Hottest areas are the dam area, Carson Cove, Glory Hole Point and Rose Island. The best depth is 55-75 feet. Best lures have been pink and white, pink and purple, blue and chartreuse Hoochies, GVF spinners, Uncle Larry's spinners and Rocky Mountain and Mag Tackle Hoochie Spinners.

Top scents are Pro-Cure Garlic, Anise, and Krill. John Croce and Richard Morgan took easy limits.

Trout trollers are working the main body and the dam area down to 60-65 feet, using Apexes, Needlefish and Uncle Larry's Pro Spinners with nightcrawlers, catching rainbows up to 3 pounds.

Night fishing for trout is best right now in the spillway area, dam area and off of the south tip of Rose Island. Anchor in 75-100 feet of water using underwater lights using Berkley PowerBait, Power Eggs, nightcrawlers and small minnows. Bass anglers are out in the early morning, using rip baits and buzz baits.

Ocean: Salmon fishing is hot in Bodega Bay and the San Francisco area. It has been easy limits for the past few days. Best baits have been trolling anchovies and herring. Top lures have been Apexes in watermelon and blue and chrome and Kevorkian and Brad's Cut Plugs. Best depths have been 35-50 feet in most areas.
