The Delta: The anglers we do have reports from fished in the Cache Slough and Liberty Island areas of the Sacramento River. They said the catch is low because the water is very cold, The only report of catching sturgeon came out of San Pablo Bay. The best baits to use are ghost shrimp, mud shrimp, eel, while some have had success on shad.
Striper bite is also slow due to cold and murky waters. Common baits are anchovies, sardines and shad.
