Delta: On the Sacramento River, striper trollers are working the edge of the channel, Horseshoe, Decker Island, and the Old Dairy. Some fish are starting to show up in Montezuma Slough.

Best lures are Rebels, Bombers and Yozuris.

Bait fishermen are using shad and sardines. Fish are running from 6 to 12 pounds, with an occasional fish in the high teens.

Salmon fishing is very good, from Rio Vista to Isleton, and Walnut Grove. Some nice ones are coming out of the Mokelumne from the grain bins all the way to Sycamore. Both trolling and jigging are working.

The locks are closed now. Jimmy Miller and Larry Liebig were jigging with Pucci Jigs out by willow berm in the Mokelumne, and brought in two fish at 15 and 20 pounds.

On Saturday, Kyle Goldberg caught a 41-pounder while using a P-Line jig in the upper Mokelumne. Ted Coffee was trolling in the Mokelumne and won the Rio Vista Bass Derby with a 24-pound salmon.

Silverton’s, Blue Foxes, Daigre QMS, Scarey Lures, Brad’s Cut Plugs with anchovie or Bloody Tuna scents are all favored baits. P-Line jigs are a favorite for jigging right now.

On the San Joaquin River, striper trollers are working the lower Mokelumne and the Sounding Board all the way down to San Andreas and Santa Clara Shoals. Most fish run from keeper size to 8-9 pounds. Anglers are using lures such as Yozuris, P-Line Predators, Angry Eyes and Rebels.

Bait fishermen are catching fish using shad, anchovies and sardines. Most fish are running keeper size to 10 pounds, fishing the Sounding Board, mouth of the Mokelumne, Santa Clara and San Andreas Shoals down to Eddos.

Black Bass anglers report using top-water lures, such as Frogs and Buzzbaits. They’re also using Spinner Baits and Crank Baits.

Pardee: The lake will be closing for the year on Nov. 3.

For now, trout fishing is on the slow side. The catfish bite is great in the south end of the lake, using chicken livers, sardines and mackerel, catching some nice fish.

Bank fishing is also on the slow side. Best baits are PowerBait, nightcrawlers and salmon eggs in the marina area.

Camanche: Trout fishermen are catching some nice trout, using Needlefish, Rapalas and Excels. Best areas are the dam area to Big Hat, working the river channel. When the water cools a little more, the planting will start; possibly in the next two to three weeks.

Some nice bass are being caught using Needlefish as well. Catfishing is going great in the coves. Some nice sized cats are being caught using nightcrawlers. Other baits are chicken livers and mackerel.

Ocean: The salmon bite was really good last weekend from the Gate out to the Ducksberry Buoy. Various lures are using tray baits, Apexes, Brad’s Cut Plugs and Dodger/Hoochies.
