The Delta: Sturgeon seem to be the best bite going, especially using lamprey eel, salmon roe and shrimp baits.

Sacramento River: Rod Kaida and Mike Nakagawa had a great day when Rod landed a 45-pound, 60-inch sturgeon on Ghost Shrimp around Decker Island in Rio Vista. Jeremy McGranahan landed a 59-pound, 64-inch sturgeon on Monday at Light 1.

Marty Morfey of Lodi caught an over-sized sturgeon at 9 1/2-feet long. He said there were several sturgeon being caught in the areas of lights 1, 2 and 33.

San Joaquin River: Bob Gragg and his fishing partner did very well with seven keeper-sized stripers in Fourteen-Mile Slough last Sunday. They were trolling shallow-running (red-head, white body) Yo-Zuris.

Bait fishing in the Light 38 area, Santa Clara Shoals and around False River using sardines and shad is bringing in the stripers.

Some Sturgeon are showing at the Light 35 area, using shad and shrimp baits. Trollers are working the Sounding Board area up to Lombardi Shoals, using Rebels and Predators.

Mokelumne River: Striper fishermen are trolling Hog Slough, Beaver Slough and the southfork area, using Rebels and Yo-Zuris. The Mokelumne River is closed from the Highway 99 bridge up to Camanche.

Lake Camanche: The lake has turned over with many reports of trout being caught from the bank. Two young brothers from Elk Grove caught fish totaling 8.8 pounds with the largest fish weighing 3.5 pounds.

The trout are closer to the surface now at 10-15 feet. Trollers in the main body of the lake are using Apexes in pink and watermelon, as well as Rapalas in sizes 5 and 7.

The early-morning bite is best with grubs in white, green pumpkin and fire tiger.

Bank fishing is doing well at North Shore near the day-use point. Limits were caught by Robbie Dunham and his friend, Nate, while trolling the main body. Dan Richardson and his friend caught limits up to 7 pounds.

Lake Amador: Bank fishermen are doing excellent using Berkley PowerBait, Berkley Trout Worms and Berkley Mice Tails.

Ocean: A lot of excitement is still coming from fishermen in the area of Bodega south to Half Moon Bay catching their limits of crab.

Note: 2012 fishing licenses are now available. All you need is your old license or some form of legal identification.

Happy Thanksgiving Day from The Fisherman’s Friend. We are closed Thursday and will re-open on Friday.
