    Pat, you are absolutely correct. The letter from the Cal AD to alumni and boosters cited the academic issues with their student athletes and had little to do with results. Cal is so low on the academic side that they are close to NCAA sanctions. I think it is refreshing to see Cal stand up and say we're not going to put up with this any longer. Pat, you'll also be happy to hear that the Cal AD specifically stated that Stanford is on the top of the PAC 12 with a student athlete graduation rate of 90% and that Cal needed to be moving in that same direction.

    Though not discussed openly, I believe that not only the losses, but also the fact that UC has the lowest graduation rate in the PAC12 contributed to his demise. Old blue bears won't put up with their school becoming a football factory, especially if they are losing. Unlike you however, I thought the Stanford-Oregon result was awesome! Go Stanford!
