California Cougars U-17 girls soccer team wins tournament

The California Cougars under-17 girls soccer team won the 2011 Ajax United Fall Invitational this past weekend in Ripon.

The Cougars opened up with a 0-0 tie with the Delta Lightning. Goalkeeper Victoria Case posted the shutout behind the strong defensive play of Lauren Frizzi, Aimee Islas, Katia Gaytan, Taylor Long, Samantha Manseau and Elizabeth Wuellner. The Cougars then defeated the Tracy Revolution 3-1. Krystal Gouveia, Long and Xiovana Ordaz scored one goal each. Dianna Murillo had two assists and Kristyn Debrouwer added one assist.
