Her legs dead from two long days of jumping, Lodi High junior Samantha Balentine somehow willed her way to a medal and a sixth-place finish on Saturday at the CIF State Track and Field Finals at Cerritos College in Norwalk.

Lodi senior Ray Nikzat finished eighth out of 10 finalists in the boys high jump. The top six in each event won medals.
