Favorite athlete: Michael Phelps. "(Because) all of the work he's done," Hummel said, "and being a well-rounded person."
Favorite sports teams: Hummel follows Pacific athletics, as well as USC, UCLA and Stanford.
Most memorable moment: Making this water polo camp. "For me, its the pinnacle of everything that I've worked for," Hummel said, "and I'm hoping there's more."
Least memorable sports moment: Getting hit in the head with the ball by an opposing goalie when Hummel was swimming back from scoring a goal. "He pegged me. It was definitely a retaliation," Hummel laughed.
Sport you'd like to try: Lacrosse.

Favorite movie: Hummel can't name one, but enjoys sci-fi movies.

Plans: Hummel would like to pursue a career in the biological sciences, perhaps as a doctor.

Dominic Hummel has played water polo for only three years, calling the sport a "totally new subject." It's safe to say he's a quick learner.
The Tokay High School freshman recently earned a trip to a Olympic Development Program junior national team training camp, which will take place during Memorial Day weekend in Orange County. He was chosen after participating at a regional tournament this past weekend in San Diego, which brought together the best prospects in the Under-16 age group from around Northern California and Hawaii.
