Lodi and Tokay high schools are one step closer to becoming league rivals again. And what a jam-packed league it would be.
On Tuesday, the Sac-Joaquin Section realignment committee accepted and approved recommendations for its original 2014-18 proposal. Among those approved, and quickly at that, by the committee was the plan to reshuffle the current San Joaquin Athletic Association and Tri-City Athletic League.

Change is necessary to move forward and offer fair & balanced competition for our student-athletes.
I do, however, strongly believe that Lodi, Tokay, Lincoln. St Mary's, Tracy & West should retain the name of the San Joaquin Athletic Association. This gives people, schools, fans a true identifying location of where these teams are from, San Joaquin County, as will the new proposed Stockton Metro name. Tri Cities could mean anywhere, in any part of the vast Sac-Joaquin Section.
Hopefully Mr. Saco reads this, or others suggest the same thing to him.
