Brooke Malcolm of the Tokay Tigers catches the ball for the out during a game against the Stagg Delta Queens on April 5, 2011. Malcolm, now a senior, plays first base for the Tigers, who hope to contend with powerhouses St. Mary’s and West in the Tri-City Athletic League in 2012.

After two years of third-place finishes, the Tokay Tigers varsity softball team will be counting on a senior transfer and a freshman phenom, along with a veteran team, to get past perennial Tri-City Athletic League foes St. Mary’s and West this season.
“St. Mary’s is in the driver’s seat and West will be riding shotgun for TCAL supremacy,” said second-year Tokay coach Robert Harmon.
