The first time Nic Carniglia touched the ball Wednesday, a small section of fans let out in cheers. It was just seconds after the start of the second half at Chris Kjeldsen Pool in an exhibition water polo match between USA’s Senior Team and Serbia.

Carniglia quickly got rid of the ball, but would get four more possessions the rest of the way as the Serbians won 13-6.
