Liberty Ranch Hawks’ John Wiernicki to soar with Air Force Academy

First, an inspirational playoff run. Now, a Division I representative. Year two of Liberty Ranch varsity football has been momentous, indeed.

On the heels of a brilliant senior campaign that included 2,562 yards and 40 touchdowns on the ground, Hawks tailback John Wiernicki will announce his decision to play collegiately for the Air Force Academy today.

Great job John! Glad to hear of a local kid getting a D-1 scholarship. Amazing job by the Coaches at LRHS to build that program in 3yrs. AFA will land on its feet no matter what, but I have to wonder what is going to happen to the Mtn West Conference.
