In an intense and physical battle, the Liberty Ranch Hawks varsity boys soccer team fought valiantly. And they succeeded. The Hawks, with their stingy defense paired with two goals from Juan Carlos Ramirez, were able to hold on for a 3-2 win over the Weston Ranch Cougars in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV championship at Stagg High School in Stockton on Saturday. It’s the first time the four-year soccer program has taken the crown.

“It really hasn’t sunk in yet,” Liberty Ranch head coach Tom Gómez said.
