Nico Brusa led the Tokay Tigers varsity boys basketball team with 16 points, but the Tigers fell to the Grant Pacers of Sacramento 57-50 in the opener of the McDonald’s Classic on Wednesday at Edison’s Taggart Gym in Stockton.

Tokay center Kashif Afzal, at 6-foot-3, had 15 points and 10 rebounds. The game was tied at 25 at halftime before Grant 6-8 center Cameron Oliver and 17 turnovers proved too much. Oliver led all scorers with 19 points. TJ Gotelli had 12 points for the Tigers.
