Lincoln at Lodi
When: Today, 7:15 p.m.
Where: Grape Bowl

Last week: Lodi lost to Bear Creek 29-7; Lincoln defeated Franklin 40-7.
Last meeting: Lincoln defeated Lodi 56-27 last season.
Preview: Don’t be deceived by Lincoln’s record. The Trojans played a brutal preseason schedule and are only a 41-39 loss to Tracy from being undefeated in league. It might not register as a huge upset if Lodi were to win, but the Flames, who have been decimated by injuries, definitely enter tonight’s game as the underdogs. “It’s high school football and anything can happen,” said Lodi coach Robert Sperling, who had eight starters sidelined last week. The Flames stalled on offense when David Simon went out with an injury, but he is expected back tonight. “The injuries have hurt but we have to step up,” Sperling said.
Noteworthy: The Trojans are averaging 46 points per game over the last three contests. ... The Flames have been inconsistent on offense all season. In their last four losses they’ve scored a combined 23 points. In their four wins this season, they’ve averaged 38.5 points. ... In their last two losses, the Flames scored first each game only to watch their opponents go on big runs. Bear Creek ran off 29 unanswered and Tracy scored 42 in a row. “We’ve had some great starts and now we just have to finish,” Sperling said. ... Lodi’s junior varsity squad is 8-1 and will face Lincoln today at 5 p.m. with the outright league title at stake.
Galt at El Dorado
When: Today, 7:15 p.m.
Where: El Dorado High School
Records: Galt (1-8, 0-5 Sierra Valley Conference); El Dorado (5-4, 3-2 SVC).
Last week: Galt lost to River City 63-6; El Dorado defeated Union Mine 34-20.
Last meeting: El Dorado defeated Galt 65-20 last season.
Preview: The Warriors were competitive in their first three games of the season, but have been overmatched since then, with their closest loss a 36-6 setback to Union Mine. Tonight doesn’t look to be any easier as the Warriors take on a Cougars squad that has scored 60 or more points three different times this season.
Noteworthy: Since defeating Kennedy in Week 2 to end a 21-game losing streak, the Warriors have dropped seven straight. ... El Dorado RB Logan Kirby has rushed for 1,190 yards and 10 TDs.
Elliot vs. Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage
When: Today, 2 p.m.
Where: Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage High School
Records: Elliot (3-5, 1-3 Central California Athletic Alliance); ROP (0-8, 0-4 CCAA).
Last week: Elliot lost to Big Valley Christian 36-22; ROP lost to Millennium 49-0.
Last meeting: Elliot defeated ROP 27-14 last season.
Preview: The Eagles have racked up over 1,500 yards of offense in their last three games, and there’s little reason to doubt that they won’t post some huge numbers against an ROP squad that has allowed 40 or more points seven times.
Noteworthy: The Eagles hung tough in their last two losses (trailed by one and tied at halftime, respectively) but couldn’t come up with the big plays in the second half. Elliot has scored 20 or more points in six of its last seven games.
