Fishing with Russ Trout bite is on at Camanche

At Camanche, the trout are on a very good bite. Central Valley Anglers had a fishing derby on Sunday and most all of the participants caught at least a limit of fish. The largest fish of the derby was over 7 pounds with a nice 6-pound fish coming in second place. Most of the fish caught are from 14 to 16 inches and weigh about 1 pound.

The best bite is from about daylight to about 10 a.m. and the trollers are doing the best as far as numbers are concerned. The lures of choice vary widely and those using spoons like the RLure, Excel and Needlefish in the No. 2 size are doing very well.
