Acampo sharpshooter Hunter Hayes has a blast in his first year of competition

Hunter Hayes didn’t grow up a big-time competitor. The biggest competition he had to worry about for many years was out-gunning his father and grandfather for ducks.

Then around last February, that all changed when he took the advice of a family friend and decided to give trapshooting a try. Five months later and Hayes, 16, is one of the western United State’s elite at gunning down flying clay targets.
