Let the defense begin. The Lodi Extreme 16 and under softball team - the 2008 Babe Ruth World Series Champions - is heading back to the World Series again this year. And this time, it won't be the only squad representing Lodi.

Over the very hot weekend in Reno, Nev., the Lodi Extreme 16U and 12U teams won their respective regional tournaments to earn the trip. The 16U squad will play Aug. 8-15 in Concord, N.H. and 12U team will head to Wilson, N.C. Aug. 6-13.

Really lodisportsfan? do you really want to stick with that statement. You are totally right about boys baseball, but the girls coaches aren't parents? cmon now. Why throw a statement out there like that when everyone knows it isnt true. Besides there isnt anything wrong with parents coaching their kids, but I dont understand why you would say the girls coaches are not parents. duh

RIGHT ON!! Way to go Lodi. Good luck to both teams. 16U bring back the championship again and 12U show them that you will be around representing Lodi for a long time to come. Wish I was going to watch either team play.

Good job girls!!! Lodi has a great softball program too bad the boys baseball is ruined with politics and bad coaching. Perhaps BOBS will take notice that the majority of the softball coaches are volunteers not parents.
