Going to the Babe Ruth World Series is getting to be an annual
rite of summer for Lodi Extreme softball player Luci Martinez.
Martinez is headed to her fifth World Series with the Extreme
16-and-under squad, which earned an automatic berth to the national
tournament in Lamar, Colo., from Aug. 4-13 after other scheduled
teams inexplicably failed to showed up to play in the Pacific
Southwest Regionals hosted in Lodi two weekends ago.
