Football: Eagles want victory to complement progress

They’ve made considerable progress over the past two weeks — ball movement, play-making and defensive intensity. But the Elliot Eagles have also shown the errors of a varsity football team still finding its footing and gaining experience.

“I’m proud of the kids and how they played (against Encina and Hiram Johnson),” said Elliot coach Tom Spadafore, whose club looks for win No. 1 tonight against the North Tahoe Lakers at Lincoln High School.
