Zupo Field's scoreboard showed five Tokay errors, but Tigers assistant George Cecchetti thought that tally was kind. He counted nearly twice that many in Friday night's 9-6 loss to the Manteca Buffaloes, in which Tokay fell behind 6-0 and recorded as many miscues (eight) as hits.
The Tigers varsity baseball team now heads into its preseason's final week at just 7-7, having lost four of five. Despite flashing considerable potential in the early going, with impressive wins over Jesuit and Tracy, Friday's defeat showed that there's still work to be done.
