Just two minutes into Wednesday’s game, the drought ended. More than a month — and three whole games — had passed since the Lodi Flames varsity girls soccer team’s last goal. So when Kelsey Gini’s early penalty kick against Bear Creek broke the ice, the hungry Flames made sure to add another score for good measure. And another. And another.

In their 4-1 home drubbing of the Bruins, Lodi (4-4-4, 1-1-1 San Joaquin Athletic Association) got its league campaign back on track — finally picking up an SJAA victory and showcasing a wide-open attack that had been shut out against Tracy and Lincoln.
