FC Elk Grove wins Wine Country Classic

The FC Elk Grove boys U-16 soccer team won the championship of the Wine Country Classic this past weekend. Elk Grove was led by former Lodi Earthquake players Matt Whittock and Tanner Mckean. In the first game, Elk Grove beat Santa Rosa 5-0, with Mckean scoring twice and Whittock adding one goal. In the second game, Elk Grove tied Benicia Arsenal 2-2 and Matt Whittock had a goal.

In the third game, Elk Grove beat Gold Country 3-1 behind two goals from Whittock and one from Mckean.
