The way Lodi High baseball coach Hobie Schultz sees it, the Flames couldn't be more prepared for the do-or-die game that awaits them in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs.

The Flames were in the same situation last Friday, needing to beat Tracy in the regular-season finale just to qualify for the postseason. Lodi rallied from late deficits of 4-0 and 6-4 in the 13-6 victory over the Bulldogs to keep their season alive, setting up a showdown with Turlock in today's playoff opener at University of the Pacific's Klein Family Field.
