Kelsey Connolly likes to step up in pressure situations. And with her Lodi Flames varsity softball team deadlocked at 5-all against league rival Lincoln Trojans on the road, she delivered big-time.
With two outs and the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning, Connolly crushed a pitch from the Trojans' Niccolette Rosette to center field for a go-ahead grand slam — the difference-making play in Tuesday's thrilling 9-6 victory, one that saw Lodi overcome a two-run deficit in the final frame.
