Lodi High track and field head coach Greg Wright started with a vision and formulated a plan. Today, Wright's dream will be realized as head coaches Michael Roach of Tokay, Jon Hathorn of Jim Elliot and Greg Sloan of Galt join forces with Wright to open the inaugural Lodi News-Sentinel Track and Field Classic.

Wright hopes to establish an annual city tradition among the local boys and girls prep programs with a new season-opening meet that will test each squad's competitive strength in the weight throws, field competition, dashes, relays and long-distance running events.
