Already in firm control, the Lodi Flames varsity baseball team simply needed to put the Gregori Jaguars away. They did so in a hurry. Ryan Thompson's RBI single in the bottom of the fifth capped an explosive, six-run inning for the Flames, who turned a comfortable lead into an 11-1, mercy-rule blowout during Monday's Sac-Joaquin Section Division I South outbracket game at Zupo Field in Lodi.

Lodi advances to face Tri-City Athletic League champion St. Mary's tomorrow night at Pacific's Klein Family Field, after putting on day-long hitting clinic against the Jaguars.
