Diego Ordaz had nine points and seven rebounds for the Tigers (10-7, 0-1 Tri-City Athletic League), who lost their league opener at St. Mary’s. Asaad Shakoor scored six points, Scott Sasaki had five and Collin Beckler added four points and six boards. Gabe Moton and Asif Hussain each had three points and Trevor Kranich had two points and five boards.
Luciano Guidi, Diego Paz and Ryan Carpenter each scored two points.
St. Mary’s 72, Tokay 34
Christian Brown had 10 points and Jorge Hernandez added nine for the Tigers. Luka Jovice scored three and Joseph Carbajal, Anam Akbar, Americo Salazar and Manreet Atwal each had two points.

For one quarter, the Tokay Tigers varsity boys basketball team was able to stay with the St. Mary’s Rams. After that, it was all Rams Wednesday at Morelli Gym as St. Mary’s defense completely frustrated Tokay in a 63-43 victory in the Tri-City Athletic League opener for both teams.
Nico Brusa gave the Tigers a lift in the first quarter with four points, including a 3-pointer. Tokay trailed 12-10 before St. Mary’s guard Gabe Vincent ended the quarter with a 3-pointer from up top. After that, the Rams remained in control. Brusa finished with six points.
