For one quarter, the Tokay Tigers varsity boys basketball team was able to stay with the St. Mary’s Rams. After that, it was all Rams Wednesday at Morelli Gym as St. Mary’s defense completely frustrated Tokay in a 63-43 victory in the Tri-City Athletic League opener for both teams.

Nico Brusa gave the Tigers a lift in the first quarter with four points, including a 3-pointer. Tokay trailed 12-10 before St. Mary’s guard Gabe Vincent ended the quarter with a 3-pointer from up top. After that, the Rams remained in control. Brusa finished with six points.
