Shelby Brendel set up Ally Drake’s game-winning goal in the first half and then played with all-out hustle in the second half to help the Lodi High girls soccer team defeat Bear Creek 1-0 in San Joaquin Athletic Association action on Wednesday in Stockon.

In the 17th minute, Lodi scored the only goal of the game on what head coach Tim Stutz called a “great team goal.” The score was set up by a several one-touch passes before Brendel fired a shot on goal. Bear Creek’s goalkeeper deflected the shot, but Drake was right there to send the rebound into the back of the net.
