The second half eluded the Tokay High football team once again.

After a dazzling offensive display by the McCurdy brothers and a momentum-shifting goal-line stand to end the first half gave the Tigers a 17-14 lead at the break, the Manteca Buffaloes scored 35 unanswered points to run away with their 22nd consecutive win and a 49-17 victory on Thursday night at the Grape Bowl.

any protective equipment can be bought through LUSD. Let your high school coach know because they should have rib pads, back plates etc. on hand. I know my son at Tokay received extra safety equipment at no cost to me. It was nice to see LUSD support my son in this manner.

I located the company with the lumbar safety pad product you requested.

    The Internet website is www.douglaspads.com

It comes in CustomPro, Standard, and Junior sizes and is listed under the "Accessories" link, which also contains ordering instructions.

Hope this helps. Safety in football can never be too much of a priority.

I couldn't do it, honestly. It is good to see young kids out there coaching football. A 25 year old head coach? I may be wrong but I think it is unheard of. Which opens doors for other youngin's to come in and coach. With that said I am sure that team is getting better every day, every practice and every game.

With all due respect to Lodi football Mom, it appears she may be misinformed. The Athletic Supply of California store she speaks of is no longer in business at that location as of last week. In fact, the building itself is all shuttered and boarded up with a "For Sale" sign on it. Perhaps it moved or went out of business for good."

Meltdown in second half is either conditioning or coaching. Teams are adjusting to your scheme and you must readjust. Heck set your fullback back four more yards and run a draw play. You have two quarterbacks on offense, use them wisely. Show it and they'll think about it.

This team has some ability,,2 weeks in a row they've played a good first half,,then get crunched in the 2nd half.In the old days this would mean a lot more running after practice.
