Defending state football champion Granite Bay Grizzlies swaggered into the Grape Bowl in Lodi on Friday and played as if its No. 11 seeding in the section football playoffs was a personal insult. Unfortunately, it was the Tokay Tigers that bore the brunt of the Grizzlies’ wrath.

Granite Bay, the two-time reigning section champ, jumped out to a 35-0 lead behind five Tokay turnovers and coasted past the No. 6 Tigers, 58-12, in the opening round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs on Friday night.
