The Lodi Flames varsity baseball team mounted a comeback in the seventh inning, but came up just short. The Flames, who were undefeated through their first eight league games, finally suffered a league loss — losing to the rival Lincoln Trojans, 5-4, at Tony Zupo Field in Lodi on Friday.

Lodi (13-7, 8-1 San Joaquin Athletic Association) had defeated the Trojans (15-2-2, 6-2-1 SJAA) in the spring's previous two match-ups, but was unable to pull off the season sweep of Lincoln.
