When Cip Sanchez took over the Tokay High girls basketball team four years ago after the departure of Jason Hitt, it was almost as if the fiery Hitt never left.

Hitt had a reputation of being an excellent coach who always got the most out of his teams, but his intense coaching style was short on bedside manners and often led to personality clashes with his players.

Congratulations Cip Sanchez for being open and objective enough to listen to your girls and respect their insight into what they needed from you in order for all of you to be happy and successful. From what I've heard from the Tokay and Lodi boys varsity players and parents the head coaches of both those programs could take a lesson from this!

    Go Tokay! Go Lodi!

But again, why is Lodi always the feature story on the LNS website? Why isn't the Tokay Cinderella team the feature story? They are the ones in the semi's when no one expected them to be there! I don't get it!
