Local athletes set stage for state berths in wrestling

Six local area high school wrestlers advanced to the second round of competition on the first day of the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Championships Friday at Stockton Arena.

Tokay's Andrew Richards and Justin Lewis advanced to today's rounds as did Lodi's Jacob Holley. Lodi resident Jim Wilson, who attends McNair High, punched his ticket to the state championship meet with three straight wins. Liberty Ranch also sent two wrestlers to today's final round with 103-pounder Chase Agrella going 3-1 and 171-pounder Christian Giovannie also going 3-1.
