Whether he is swimming or playing water polo, it's hard to find Jake Lear when he's not in the water. The Lodi High senior has made a career of scoring goals for Lodi in the pool in the fall and then earning invitations to the Sac-Joaquin Section meet in the spring. He says he likes both sports equally and just focuses on whichever is in season.

Right now, it's water polo time and the reigning San Joaquin Athletic Association MVP is leading a senior-stacked Lodi squad with hopes of repeating its SJAA championship and top-four finish in the section playoff bracket last year.

Nice article on Jake and the team. Too bad TCAL league only has three teams. Why can't they merge the two leagues together like in the past and have a more meaningful league. Who says all schools need to be aligned identically for all sports. In college different sports are sometimes in different conferences. For instance Stanford is in different conference for football versus waterpolo.
