Colin Anderson and Scotty Cranston, pole vault: The senior standouts are poised for big final after making it to Masters last spring. Anderson had a personal best of of 14 feet, 2 inches in 2012, while Cranston cleared 13-6 at Masters.
Carlie Buchanan, sprints and jumps: Buchanan enjoyed a stellar freshman season, setting school frosh-soph marks in the 100m and 200m while finishing as league runner-up in both. She will also be a big point-getter in the long jump and 100m hurdles.
Mayra Mejia and Hayley Boynton distance: Mejia was a top-five SJAA finisher in the 3200 and 1600 last season, while Boynton is already challenging veterans as a freshman.
Zack Hummel, Phillip Kruse and Blake Fonda, distance: All ross country leaders in the fall, the trio will help Lodi push league favorite Lincoln. Hummel made last year's section meet in the 3200.
Veronica Viramontes, Helena Buck and Jose Gaytan, discus: Buck and Viramontest excel at both throwing events, but discus especially. Buck, a junior, owns the Flames' frosh-soph record. Her sophomore teammate isn't far behind, posting a top-five league finishes and making the section meet in both events last year. Gaytan, senior, is reigning league discus champ and section participant.
