The sound of splashing water cascaded from the side of Tokay High School’s pool as dozens of kicks and screeches of delight echoed across the campus.

Towels hung from tents that lined up along the side of the water, doubling as extra shade while they dried. Parents sat in beach and camping chairs as they sipped cans of soda or bottles of water, chatting about everything from their kids’ swimming to Friday night’s Giants game.
