An entertaining, new-look Homecoming for the Elliot Eagles ended with a varsity football showcase at the Grape Bowl in Lodi on Saturday. And though the Eagles could not end the festivities with a win, they showed their resilience and put on quite the show against the Stone Ridge Knights – a 48-42 thriller featuring two unstoppable ground attacks that combined for five scores in the fourth quarter alone.

Behind a 323-yard rushing performance, Elliot (2-5, 0-2 Central California Athletic Alliance) rallied twice in the final period, storming back from 15 down to take a 36-35 lead and answering the Knights’ go-ahead score to force a 42-42 tie with 4:03 to play.
