- Realignment at a glance
Galt, Liberty Ranch and Elliot Christian could all see changes in their leagues under Tuesday's first Sac-Joaquin Section realignment proposal for 2014-2018.
Under the recommendation, the D-IV Sierra Valley Conference, which includes the Warriors and Hawks, would shrink from seven to six teams. Current members Vista del Lago, Cosumnes Oaks and River City would all be moved up to D-III leagues, given the schools' larger enrollments. The SVC will add Rosemont and Cordova out of Sacramento, to join remaining members Galt, Liberty Ranch, Union Mine and El Dorado.
Elliot Christian, meanwhile, could be part of an eight-team league, with the plan adding Turlock Christian and Venture Academy to the D-VII Central California Athletic Alliance. The two schools would join Elliot, Big Valley Christian, Stone Ridge Christian, Sierra Ridge/ROP, Millennium and Brookside Christian.
For football, the new CCAA would have seven teams since Venture Academy does not currently field a program.

Though the Sac-Joaquin Section's 2014-18 realignment proposal on Tuesday left the Tri-City Athletic League and San Joaquin Athletic Association untouched, change may still be in the air for the two leagues.
A recent plan from the Tracy Unified School District, which received unanimous support from all six TCAL athletic directors and is being discussed by the SJAA, would significantly shuffle the make-up of both leagues.
