It wouldn’t be Lodi-Chavez without another nail-biter. For a third straight year, the Lodi Flames varsity football team outlasted the Chavez Titans in a four-quarter heart-stopper. And after Lodi’s offense broke out last week, this time the defense answered the call.

The definition of ‘bend-but-don’t break,’ the Flames had seven fourth-down stops and a pair of turnovers on the night — including three stands in the final period — while Chance Trammell’s 73-yard, tie-breaking run in the fourth was the difference in a 34-27 thriller.
