The foundation basketball games, which benefit the Sac-Joaquin Section scholarship fund, opened with a mixed bag at home for Tokay High School. On the varsity boys side, the Tigers clawed past the visiting Lincoln Trojans in a tight 48-44 contest.

Trevor Mabalon led the way for Tokay with 24 points, four steals and  five assists. Matt Komatsu added eight points and three rebounds, while David Gonzalez scored four and grabbed three boards of his own.
