Baseball: Flames hope to get bats going to back the big guns

The offense has been hit and miss, the defense has been OK. But the pitching has been spot on this preseason, and Lodi Flames varsity baseball coach Hobie Schultz knows that will always keep you in ball games.

"We've been getting the pitching we want," said Schultz, who enters his seventh season as head coach. "So that needs to stay consistent. So far overall our defense has been OK. Our weakest point we need to work on right now is our consistency at the plate."
