On a practice field on the southern edge of Sacramento State, six-figure salary earners workout unassumingly.

The group of recent MLB draftees is usually about a half dozen, mainly relief pitchers who gather a few times a week. Each with either high school or college ties to the area, they train with strength coach Tom Ruelas next to John Smith Field.
