Just like the outcome of Thursday's game, the postseason fate of the Lodi High girls basketball team is going down to the wire. Jill Burkhard hit a putback as time expired to lift the Flames to a thrilling 46-44 comeback win over Chavez on Thursday in Stockton. The desperately-needed victory ended Lodi's three-game losing streak and kept the Flames' playoff chances alive.
Lodi entered the week holding onto the 16th and final playoff spot in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I power ratings, but a loss to Bear Creek on Tuesday likely will knock the Flames (14-10, 5-4 San Joaquin Athletic Association) down going into their regular-season finale next Thursday against Franklin.
